WHAT IS THE A/C RECHARGE ASSISTANT?

The A/C Recharge Assistant walks you through recharging your vehicle’s A/C system. By measuring temperature and humidity, it automatically calculates the optimum fill – preventing the common problem of overcharging.

HOW MUCH DOES THE APP COST?

It’s free! However, the app only works when paired with the Smart Chip Pro.

WHY DO YOU NEED MY EMAIL?

The Smart Chip email updates are completely optional. We will never collect or share your personal information.

HOW DO I CONNECT TO THE SMART CHIP?

Make sure the Smart Chip is turned on, and when prompted with step 2, the app will automatically connect with the Smart Chip.

WHY DO YOU NEED MY LOCATION?

Due to a requirement of the Android operating system version 6.0+, all apps require location permission to detect and connect with Bluetooth devices.

WHAT IF MY RECHARGE HOSE HAS A PRESSURE GAUGE?

You can still use the hose, but if you are using the A/C Recharge Assistant, please use the app when adding refrigerant and stop charging when it indicates the “Correct Fill” has been reached. Using a low-side pressure gauge only can give inaccurate readings and cause overcharging!

WHY CAN’T I GET PAST STEP 2?

The A/C Recharge Assist will only work when paired with the Smart Chip.

MY TEMPERATURE READING IS TOO HIGH OR LOW

The sensor inside the Smart Chip needs time to acclimate to the outside temperature. Hold the Smart Chip outside for several minutes and then take another reading.

HOW DO I USE MY CAN OF REFRIGERANT?

Follow the instructions on the can. We recommend using B’laster branded A/C products for the best results.
